Strap yourself to your chairs... Hobby Business People at their best!
This will go into my website, disclosing the writer

Here is a marketing line, I have never read, heard or seen anywhere, pasted directly from an email response I had received. I had inquired to 12 or 15 "Airbrush- Artists" of which about 3 came back to me at all... one quoted me 500 dollars, one 350... and one guessed right around...
This one claims to be able to do anything, he responded after my second attempt to contact him, remembering me only blurry and after more than 3 weeks... LOL!

I wouldn't be interested in doing it sorry.....

I could paint the shark, but time involved would not be worth me doing it pluse you would want to pay that kind of money......It would take along time to make it look right...

Thats probally why you'll have a hard time finding some one to paint it....

Spelling Bee HUH?

Since I apparently am a piss-poor person, owning six aircrafts (I actually own 2 of them, the rest are family...), a company, and coastal property in sunny maine, I was somewhat stumped...
I wish his stupid business was for sale guys, I'd buy this butthead right out of his fat assed clothcovered little stool! After 7 years in Sales, Marketing & endless international business in Advertising, it took a Texan to convince me that there is actually NO LIMIT to downright stupid business practices...

My response was short and simple:
"I would say that was pretty clear marketing."
Thanks

I'd hate to bust a gut over what some people want to guess... but this one is a fuse popper!

Thanks for reading :o)

Clarifiction: NCNitro & 4u2nv have both offered to help me instantly, both are not people advertising that they are awesome painters, as buggyracer and all the others are, so I want to make sure no one feels stepped on his toes. No "real" RCNT member is to be harmed by this post!

Unfortunately a lot of the really good painters have gotten to the point where they are being selective. They pick up a couple of big names and they build an ego. Granted some of the bodies they do are really time consuming which leads to backlogs of over 6 months. I guess one way to look at it would be that he didn't take your money and then deliver something you didn't like or just looked like poop.

Who have you contacted? Definatly do NOT GO TO WILZWERKS. The guy is a thief. Took me for $100

In all seriousness the work that the guys on our site do is very very good. Check them out.

I guess so too, only one demanded money upfront before he would even talk/ respond. But this guy certainly has inhaled a lot of bad fumes. Just funny to call something "Custom" and then get a body painted by someone who has not understood the basics of communication.
Can't do it, don't feel confident enough to charge you a arm and a leg and then be unable to deliver" would have been one possible response.
Afterall, it's a form of art, but certainly not unlearnable.

Anyways, intention of this post was to point out that pretty much all the bigfarts do is have a great website, which is wasted due to some of their inablility to communicate. I'd stick to our guys anytime, but since I started inquiring before I even became a RCNT member, I was anxious to give them a chance before it's ova.

I'd be willing to bet that you tried to contact the wrong guys. I know of 5 or 6 pro level painters that would have treated you well. Google isn't always the best. Sean Ozz is one of the best painters out there and he definatly wouldn't have given you the cold sholder.

You still never got your money back from this dude? I thought a while back he was going to "Take care of everything" and made some excuse about living in his car cuz his wife dumped him or somthing... Thats messed up.

Thats messed up. What a ass. He did amazing work too. To bad such talent had to be wasted on a scammer.

buttheads and there responses to you.A few of

Hey Rage,

better yet, how about anybody that want's a body painted stays within the RCNT family, supporting our members who have extraordinary skills mixed with a friendly attitude? The only reason for me to "look outside the bun" was that I had inquired with some of these guys before I was even a member here. I will spend my money with a smile, knowing that I get a "friend" to do it, and if I have to wait... so be it. I got 32 years old without a Revo, I'll make it through a few more weeks without the Custom Body :o) Sounds more constructive I hope?

I appreciate the support, but it's exactly what vbgagnon, and Dr. Jet said!
A W.T.F email will change: Nothing, because these guys don't GAF! LOL

the fine folks here can help you out.......I have had great results from the one painter here I delt with so far.....others are I am sure the same.....I agree "Keep it in the family"

I try to get everything from here or at least from our sponsors before I start to look elseware. Id give the money to a member than to some stranger. Plus I know the rcnt family will always treat people good.

As far as the painters ya dealt with being arrogant, I think thats pretty sad. I dont mean to take ANYTHING away from anyone, but anyone who is willing to put in the time and effort, practice, and do all the reading on painting they can will be a decent painter. I mean I know it takes skill, but for a person to be on a high horse about that, I think is pretty bogus. I think people will agree with me that in Rc, on different levels, the people attitudes are different. I know that on some of the crawler forums the people are pretty short tempered and tend to be on the high horse too. I dont understand it at all. Some of the nicest people I've probably ever met, has been on at the airfield. When I 1st got into the scene it was with planes. And my 1st time at the field I was overwhelmed with people trying to help me and give me tips before I even got the plane in the air. They were so happy to see someone take to the hobby that they wanted to make it a great experiance (Which it was). If they would have been jerks, I probably would have hung up my flying gear.
