Are roto starters hard on one way bearings?

Only when something jams and they apply more torque than you would with a hand starter, which gives you feedback about whether the engine is turning over smoothly or flooded. If the engine is broken in and preheated so it starts in a second or two, they won't be under nearly as much load as when they have to crank a cold engine over and over to get it started.

My thoight is any electric starter gives more wear and tear vs a pull start. That being said, what @tudordewolf said above will cause more wear imo

Yes that makes perfect sense a flooded engine would add more stress to the one way bearing.thanks for your input.
