Just curious if they are worth the $30-$40.

190 ounce/ inch torque (13.8 Kg/Cm) @ 6v

Funny you should ask. I was just talking with John at HH today while ordering a sidewinder for my tuber, and I was going to also order the old standard 645 to use in it. He asked about what kind of truck I would be using it in, what tires, and I told him a fairly heavy tuber with 2.2 mudslingers, he said this was a much stronger servo than the 645, had more torque, and had much better holding torque than the 645 and he highly recomended it for my application. It's digital, programable, and metal geared, so for $40 I figured I would give one a try and added one to my order. but I won't get to actually test it for a little bit yet.

I noticed it after clicking on a link I think you made here this morning and thought I'd peruse the merch.

Let me know how it works for you. Bad centering/grindy/short life... etc.

For $40, that's a lot of torque at a decent speed with really good standing torque. Did he mention if it was sealed at all?

I saw the 645's there for $30! I remember when those were over $40 at tower.

I will definitely let you know how it works out. But John said he felt they were much better than the 645s, and I have had great luck with those. I don't think they are sealed but I plan on taking it apart and packing the case with dielectric grease anyway, so I shouldnt have to worry about any moisture at all.

I had heard of doing that, but never did it. Where do you pick up the grease? 9 times out of 10, the water gets in under the servo horn. Not sure what grease can do for you there since the moving parts smears it out of the way.

Nonetheless, a couple of those in my aftershock for steering would stiffen things up a bit!

Keep an eye out for an o-ring on the output shaft. If there is one, I know what my next few servos will be. ;)
