I got the Parma 1/8th Grave Digger body and it looks as though it will be impossible to fill the fuel tank on my Savage SS with the body on. The body is super tall and even if I cut a hole in the roof above the tank I will not be able to reach down to the tank.

Any thoughts?

I bough it and saw the same problem, that body is huge, I've not painted and mounted it yet but I think a side refilling hole whould be the only way.

If you do such a big hole in the rear the body will be very weak, if I where you I'd cut just a rear o side window.

What I did was cut a 1" hole in the side to put the fuel in the tank. Then I made a 3/8 inch hole in the roof, and put a zip tie from the gas cap, and pass the tie through the body.
Put a piece of fuel tubing over the tip of the zip tie for better grip.
After the body is on, you pull the tie to open the cap, stick the fuel bottle tip in the 1" hole and fill away.
Let the zip tie go, and your ready to rock.

Do you have any pictures? I didn't want to cut a hole in the side and ruin the look of such a cool body.

I think I am going to try and make a fill hole from the back of the body.

Well, it seems that we will not make to change your mind regarding the back hole :) , here you have a pic of the zip tie system Ratzor is saying, I applied it in my rally car, all you have to do is the same system with a side hole.

Thanks for the help with the pic kazi.
I don't have a pic. I wrecked that body a long time ago.
Sorry.

I hear you and I do appreciate the help. I have the parts and I am just in the planning phase right now. I would rather have a rear fuel fill hole, but I may have to settle on a side hole. Measure twice, cut once. :)
I originally planned to use this new body just for show but now I think I want to use it as a runner. The stock SS body has allowed my engine to take a few hits on rollovers and my heatsink sustained some minor damage.

don't worry dude, is you who will enjoy your car, do the hole in the most suitable side you think, I agree that the side hole will mess the grave digger original desing, I'll do it there because I'll paint another desing and is the shorter way to the tank. Post some pics once you finish it.

If your going to use it for running, you'll probably cut the hell out
of it for cooling purposes as well.
If you don't cut a hole in the windshield, you may run very very hot.
I cut the hell out of mine when I had it.
If your using it for show, you wont be runing it anyway.
So you wont have to cut anything.

I am thinking about cutting out the windshield and the top half of the back window. I was also thing about cutting out the front door windows but that might make the body too weak. I probably could use a circle cutter on the windshield and/or the side windows but I do not like the look of that.

if u have a rollcage for it the bodys more for decor than nething else. so then just do the back.
