am i the the only 1 who knows what this truck is, wow do i feel old, it a futaba FX_10 , i had about 6 of them[/QUOTE ]
You beat me to the punch! that is the correct name! I got a hold of my friend last nite.

 Oh wow, that really takes me back. I remember the Futaba FX 10 was the first real quality R/C electric car I ever had. The kid down the street had the Tamiya Sonic Fighter and while they were very simular the FX 10 would run circles around the Sonic Fighter and didn't seem to have as many electrical problems. Cool thread........... somebody drag out some more old stuff for us to ID............

We need a link to a photo of the Futaba, if that's what it is. Everything I see is the same as Tamiya except that I can't account for the side extentions on the tub. I'm 100% positive that it's a Tamiya, and if it's a Futaba, it's a total knock off.
A possible clue is is the white tub. All the Tamiyas I saw in the 80s were black, but the upper body shells were white.
That was the hard body. They did come out with clear lexan about '83, but it was aftermarket.

Well I was wron about it being the sonic fighter, the shocks and the sides of the body just aren't right. It's very close tho.

I got to playing around with it last night. Looks like once it's up and running it would be fun to play around with once in a while.

Here's a link to an FX 10 .. it's looking like it might be a match

NO MORE CALLS, WE HAVE A WINNER !!!

Okay, there's the white tub and the side extentions. That's it.
Well, it's obvious that Futaba did a serious knock off of the Tamiya design, because everything else was the same.

Oh there's no doubt that Futaba closely copied the Sonic Fighter. I venture to say that Tamiya might have made the FX 10 for Futaba. How else can you account for the fact that certain elements of the design are a mirror image?

i new it i ran these every day when i had them they were a good buggy i know the person that has one of mine still i wonder if it is werth anything?? let me know guys curtis
