i dyed my wheel they were white and i dyed them black for about 4 mins checking them between but they turned a light purple

ok i got my airbrush out and painted them black and put a couple of clear coats on

That is one way to do it, altho, the paint will most likely chip. Your best bet is to turn the temps up a little higher on the stove, and add a little more dye. It might take a few dying cycles (it's sort of like painting), but you should be able to get a perfect black dye job.

I've found with most parts that I dye black, 20 minutes on a hard boil works good.

Sounds like a cooking show huh? LOL

ok but i odered some new wheels so i have a set for street I'll try to dye those

I dont like dark colors a lot, I prefer the lighter colors, but anyway... nice job. They are a nice solid black.

I like the black wheels, I have black wheels on my Savage and ST's as well. Nice job btw.

I have some rpm clawz that were the chrome ones once upon a time.

i painted them black once the chrome started to chip and i gave them away. Now, the guy I gave them to tried to paint yellow over them, messing it up.

I asked RPM about stripping the paint, and they said that under the chrome, they were the white dyeable. They recommended mineral spirits or oven cleaner. I tried the mineral spirits, but it didn't work. It took the yellow off, and some of the black, but only a tad of chrome.. Any ideas on getting these back to white??

original easy off oven cleaner, (yellow can).

don't waste your time with the fume free stuff.

btw: it doesn't hurt any to "splurge" and buy the real easy off instead of the knock off brand. there IS a difference.
