What is that? A Smartech? Either way, stay away from it! It's probably crap, and even if it's not, it's going to be a bitch to get parts for. Stay away is my advice. Anything from OFNA, HPI, Team Losi, Team Associated, Traxxas, Xray, Mugen, Kyosho would be fine.

Never even heard of it. Looks similar to a smartech. No matter what I would definately avoid it, get something your local hobby shop has parts to fix.

thanks,..

thanks, you guys. this site seems only sell Smartech products. It has something relatively I can afford and it has all the parts too. I wonder what bad experience you got to make you stay away. I just joint this forum. Really new here. The only thing I concern about this site it doesn't say where they locate at.

Most people diss the smartechs because they are cheap knock-offs of other, better vehicles. And the smartechs are cheap, and poor quality. And, I doubt you'll find ANY hobby shop out there that carries parts for them. I had a friend who wanted one, and had convinced himself that they must be good since they even exist. So, he bought it thinking he got an awesome deal. Well, upon arrival, it was in the OEM packaging, and needed a lot of assembly (3 hours worth) and it was advertised as a RTR. So, he finally gets it ready to start, he starts it after a lot of trouble, and drives it down his driveway, and off the 4'' slanted curb and breaks a shock shaft. After 2 weeks of waiting for the part, he installs it, then breaks an A-arm going up that same 4'' slope doing about 10mph max. So, he gets pissed, and says to hell w/ this. So, we decide to see how it would fair over some big jumps (we know it would break), well, we break 2 more shock shafts once we hit the ramp, then upon landing, the chassis gets bent, and breaks a shock tower, F/R bulkheads, 3 driveshafts, and even manage to crack a lock-nut in half. And, it got about 3' of air. So, he thinks o well, all rc's must be like this. So, I go get my savage, take it off the same ramp doing 30, do a backflip and a half causing an ugly landing and does 8 cartwheels, and keeps on goin.

Need I say more?

Oh, man, didn't know it's that bad. Thanks for sharing.

Have you tried any the helicopters of theirs? The pizza guy down the street has one scopetech. Some time I saw him fly it in the parking lot. He flies pretty nice and always attracts people to watch. But I saw him crashed once and broke the big blades...Haven't seen him flying for a while.

Well, when you crash a helicopter, you're pretty much going to break something. They are meant to fly, not get beaten up by jumps like savages. :hammer:

search the forum for "smartech" read up on them.. then make your choice..

Thanks, guys. How to search on this site to find topics about Smartech? I don't see a search function here. So far I haven't seen any positive comments about it yet. If they are that bad why they are still around?

Because people new to the hobby, and lacking of the knowledge that forums exist, will see the ultra low price and buy them.

Under $200 for a "running" nitro buggy, that is why. :D

Even with quality RC's you get what you pay for. I can only vouch for the Sportwerks Mayhem, RTR, Pro, doesn't matter, they built it right. It's a little more expensive than other buggies but is a quality build for sure.

In this hobby you get what you pay for. Even at entry level items, you want to at least buy a product that will provide parts support to your local hobby shop, and your car/truck should be reliable, easy to tune and be able to take some abuse as the car/truck will undoubtedly be abused while you are learning to drive it. Better to spend another 40-50 bucks and get a better brand than waste your money on something that you will never use because it is always breaking or is too hard to tune.

I don't know if anyone noticed (got tired of reading), but the radio has a big SMARTECH sticker on it.

If you are serious about purchasing a buggy, go down to a local track and talk to a few racers. Don't be a smart ass with them, and let them know you are new to this. Many times they will be glad to point out some things for you. We were all beginners at one time! Secondly, I have come across a lot of good deals on previously owned vehicles from the racers. Most of these are good rigs that they have been racing and proven to be reliable. I have seen some sell for less than the hop up parts on it were worth. Just food for thought!

where did you find this one?

Looks like a Smartech to me. Where did you find it? Is it bad too?

I would really avoid this one as the it looks more plastice than anything else. I would even get a duratrax Axis...Damn did I say that? Get something you can get parts for readily. I have an X5 and now an inferno and Ebay seems to be the place for me so far on the Inferno. Be very careful choosing. Damn I said "I would even get a duratrax Axis". LOL

I ordered a small tool kit from rseetoys.com. I have already received. It seems their service is ok and also I emailed them to ask some question about their products. They replied me within one day. Seems the communication is all right too. The only problem is that not everyone likes Smartech!!
