I read an RCCARACTION magazine today and saw that proline is making some tires for the Slash but it didn't mention the Slayer. Has anyone found some good tires for the Slayer yet?
I found these but am not too sure about them... any advise will be helpfull
Don't think I like these

Please shoot me a link if you find a decent tire for the Slayer

I have been wondering the same thing, so i went into the local rc shop and the guy showed me some stuff. Traxxas makes a 17mm conversion kit which will allow you to put 1/10th scale buggy wheels on it giving you limitless options for tire choice. The conversion kit is $25, then the cost of wheels and tires. It kinda makes a slayer look pretty *** but it hooks up a lot better, i noticed my slayer with small tires even though its 4 wheel drive it fish tails and spins out a lot. :\

The Slayer and Slash both use 2.2 tires do they not? A lot of the guys are running the Geolanders from what I hear.

Nope they have a real odd rim.... its 2 different sizes... huge where it connects to the hub (like T-Maxx size) and tiny on the outside. So I was hoping that someone knew what worked..... Sounds like I need to convert the hub size... Personally I was hoping that there was something out there that didn't require conversion. Like a set of pre glued tires and rims.... Although I have messed with the camber and toe and found it to hook-up alot better. (still only use half throttle at the BMX track)

According to the Traxxas site the Slash and Slayer both use 2.2 rims and tires. Like I said--Geolanders are the tires you want...

You can run rear 1/8th buggy tires. yes the tires are 2.2's and the reason why the rim is like that is to reduce tire flex in turns. Just buy 1/8 buggy tires and rims and put em on.

So I need to ask for the 17mm hex conversion, then I can use 1/8 scale buggy tires. This sounds like the best advise here. Thanks all, I will check that out.

sorry lol:hehe: I'm still really confused about the whole wheel deal as well i personally think my slayer looks way cooler with small tires n wheels. I would rather go buy like some black crome axial's but i have no idea what will fit and what won't:\ i think it's pretty stupid that everbody and their brother make slash parts but there doesn't seem to be a lot of slayer mods out there

I asked the same question just yesterday, here was the reply about both Slayer wheels and the light kit for the new body.

Hello,
The Slayer wheels are still a few weeks away from production. The lights are actually for Scale crawlers but can be used on other vehicles, we should have those ready to ship in about 3 weeks. All updates with ship dates will be on our website within the next week.

Best Regards,
Pro-Line

Thanks... looks like Pro Line will be making tires that fit the Slayer soon.... I'll have to check that out. As for lights, not really my thing (except on street cars)

Suweeet!!! I was gonna go out and buy the conversion kit tomorrow, but i might just have to hold off then. I can't wait:w00t:
