I have the associated 15 engine. Do you have to put the head on on any particular direction? I can put the head on it one way and there will be a bigger space between head/carb body, and a smaller space between head/carb body if i flip it around.

You'd most likely want the bigger space at the carb body to allow room for the air filter. Also make sure you have your cuts for airflow facing the right way. Not all motors have them on what would be facing all four directions. Some heads are cut to only allow airflow from front to back.
