Hello everybody
Here is the situation I bought this nitro rc
I thought was a bargain however I put like $300 in it before I got a chance to start it
When I got it going the bulkhead busted and I can’t find any parts can anybody tell me what kind of rc this is so I can fix it?

It looks like a Smartech or ECX. ,I don't think that it is a name brand car!

To be honest with you ,you should have signed up on a RC forum before you made that or any purchase of an RC!

Here are some other pics if anybody can tell me how to fix it that would be great

new2,
i know back in the day purple usually was HPI's gig, but that plate design isnt ringing any bells.
had you replaces the servos/engine? if not is there any badging on the engine /servos/electronics? is it 2.4ghz or old crystal type? i see "rage" on one of the servos.
it seems that cbaker65 is on the money with Smartech.
Side Note: it is really strange seeing so many brands go with purple anodizing, been out of rcing for awhile and used to be if it was purple it was most likely HPI.

Thanks for the reply D3mon
I put the servos in how can I tell if it is 2.4 or crystal? No marks on engine or anywhere as far as that goes

I just looked at the receiver it says 2.4 ghz
But I just put that in

ok wouldn't as much help with identifying which model it was in that case, good choice in receiver/tx combo though.
below is a picture of the Crystal type

Should I still try to salvage this car or take the good parts off and dump it?

I can keep the motor servos receiver gas tank and tires and toss the rest and look for a roller

personally yes i would look for a roller. that said it seems that this was a good learning car though. but for aftermarket support and availability i would look for something else. its been 8+ years since i was last running RC's, so am a bit out of touch with current models so bear that in mind, i know that the HPI Nitro RS4 was a good model, kyosho had some good cars traxxas were decent, i think it was the 4tec. (traxxas seems to have the longest support for availability in parts. associated is good. i am not as fluent with the on roads so that's about all my knowledge.

if you do decide to build up another car should definitely post progress, you should be able to find a cheaper roller on ebay or somethign to swap everything over, id make sure that the carb type from new roller is the same (i.e. slide/rotary). or can at least be modified to work either way. or if you do rebuild this one would like to see pics of it in its new glory :p

So I was told that this is a redcat and I may have found some parts for it I’m not 100% however it is worth checking out
The parts I need are a muffler a rear end the tranny gears and bulkhead I have to go get the parts it is about 150 miles away however total price will be $25 I’ll try to go next week and let you know

That car needs a lot of parts ,I don't even see a clutch or bell!
The muffler has to be replaced ,a descent tuned pipe could fetch $ 29 to 60 bucks , an you can not run the car
with that hole in the pipe ,the engine relys on the tank pressure through via ,the muffler to get the fuel it needs!
You might be better off buying a good used brand name car!

Like I said I am taking a drive next week to check out the parts the person who I spoke to said he has all the parts I need and he will let the package go for $25 including a muffler
Rear end two speed tranny gears and if I need something els he has over 1000 parts it may or may not be true however it would be fun to take a road trip and make a day out of it

Oh ,my bad ,I thought you was purchasing from a HS store ,but if you can get all those parts
at that price ,then that's a good deal!....

Well seeing is believing
It sounds too good to be true but I’ll know next week

Looks alot like my Smarttech from the bottom chassis but i'd have to be home to compare for sure, certainly not identically as mine has no purple parts. Yes you probably will end up putting more money getting it running into it than getting a nice name brand car but hey whats done is done and once you get it running well you'll have the satisfaction that no shiny new car can bring! That's how i justify my Smartech restoration anyway :) Especially when i order parts from Australia!
