It's actually not the screw but the threads on the block the screw screws into to hold down the heatsink. I just got this car used and noticed when I got it started it today for the first time smoke was coming from right under the heatsink. I decided to tighten the screws when i noticed the area the smoke was coming out of didnt have a screw at all so I took one from the other side and thats when i noticed why it didnt have one the screw slids in and out. I fear the engine is now shot any last hope?

it's an OS .15 CV

About your best shot of salvaging it is a new crankcase, and a screw set.

Those OS 15 CV's are not bad little motors to start with. Very easy to tune, and just the right amount of power to learn on. You'll like it.

First thing to try is to pull one of the other screws and see if you can find one a little longer. Then see if it screws in far enough to tighten up.

Next thing I would do is get the next size larger screw and tap it out to fit it, drill the corresponding hole in the heat sink to fit the screw and you're in business.
