So I have just bought a new to me nitro car, but first I want to tell you about my old one, it was a FTX Vantage (brushless version), running on 2s lipo batterys, I have the upgraded parts for all the shocks and towers a battery checker and a 5000mah spare battery (these have never been fit), I was wondering how much this is all worth as i spent over £320 on it,

Now then my new :first_place: nitro car :first_place: is a "HPI Rush Evo" it needed one or two bits that I will talk about in the comments later but for now,

How much faster will it be than my lipo?
What fuel should I be using?
Is there anything that I should be watching for? (safety or maintenance)

I am new to nitro cars and this will be my first one when I receive it

Thank you in advance for all your help :D

ok I'm thinking u got it used so I'm gunna say look up and find factory carb settings for it if you can't find them call hpi and ask it will give you a good base start in tuning. next off after every run pull the plug out and clean the engine with wd-40 will work helps the engine to last longer. safty all i can say is dont full pull it when ur aimed at you or others lol. as far as faster than electric i have no clue i hate electric just due to the fact that its well not as exciting so i never owned one. and fuel man brand will work so long as its nitro find out what your local hobby dealer carrys and use that. what ever nitro % u use stick with it for that engine id say for best bashing fun use somthing around the 20% mark.

I was wondering how much this is all worth as I spent over £320 on it,

Depending on condition, it's realistically worth somewhere between 30-50% of your investment (initial purchase and upgrades, repairs don't count). Used RC resale just sucks, unfortunately.

How much faster will it be than my lipo?

It probably won't be. Brushless and LiPo put electrics at the top of the heap. A well tuned, high performance nitro can run just about as well as a decent brushless system, but I'd be lying if I told you nitro still had a performance edge. The upside to nitro now is just the realism, and being able to simply fuel and go, rather than spend a bunch of time charging multiple batteries. Receiver packs last awhile, and there's always the option to keep a back-up AA receiver pack so you can just pop in AA batteries and keep running if your rechargeable pack dies. Running non-stop with an electric all day is gonna require a dozen packs, and a power source to keep them charging.

What fuel should I be using?

Car fuel. Other than that, whatever your preference. I'd probably start with 20%; most engines run pretty good on that, and it's easier on them than higher content fuels.

Is there anything that I should be watching for?

It's really not much different than electric in that regard. Just stop if something doesn't seem quite right. Couple more maintenance items (namely air filter and glow plug), but I find the service between electric and nitro tends to be largely the same. Clutch shoes and bearings are wear items, but otherwise you're dealing with the same chassis care.

Just remember to set your piston to bottom dead center whenever you shut your nitro down.

Maintenance wise, you are going to spend a lot of time cleaning it just because the oils in the fuel make dirt and dust stick to it. Remember to clean your air filter regularly. Electrics are fun because you can just plug in and go bur nitros are a whole different game. You will need to be tuning for your climate, its not hard, just time consuming. Also, tuning your rig on the street and tuning it in the dirt are two different things. Tune your engine to where you will be running it.

I would go to youtube and look at the rc videos posted there. Most people learn by watching than reading so I would start there. Also pick a nitro fuel that's readily available and is a quality name like Byrons, Odonnel, Losi, etc.

Thanks for all the help, i would also like to know, if anyone does know?
if this driveshaft is the correct size "6X86mm", i need a dogbone for the back wheels and as far as i can tell it is correct but i would like some clarity if anyone knows more on this, I have bought some "HPI Racing Power Fuel 25%" as I was hoping that it would be ok on this due to it being HPI
(it also has two engines if i post some pictures or a link if its allowed would anyone be able to tell me if they are any good/what they are)
Thank you again for all your help and as i am very new to this I hope that I'm not asking any stupid or irrelevant questions :)
