I'm sure you see a million questions about tuning, I know I have read every one that I can find.
I am having some issues with my tmaxx 3.3. After break in I started tuning the engine and I am getting some strange results. I began by adjusting the HSN 1/16 turn at a time and making high speed runs to judge performance and checking temp after each run. I got it to the point that the engine runs at around 250 but I am having problems with bogging down unless its WOT. It takes off like a rocket but begins cutting out at high speed and wont shift. I know your thinking too lean but it's still around 250. so I think maybe it's just a tad too rich but when I lean it 1/16 it runs much better but engine temp hits 300. The other problem is that it dies if I go WOT for 1-2 seconds and then let off. also it will not run at partial throttle of any kind, it bogs down and dies. I have re-read the sticky on this sight and my manual (yes I actually read it) and the instruction dvd sent by traxxas. I'm at a loss. HELP!!! The only other thing that I can think it may be is a fuel line leak. would a bad seal on the O-Ring for the fuel tank cause a problem. And by the way I have tried resetting to factory settings and starting over with the same results.

Update. I pulled the glow plug and it looks good. the coil is silver in color and the tip is blackened. There was also a good amount of oil on the plug. I tightened up the O-ring on the tank and i'll give that a try.

solution

Since I did not get an answer I thought that I would post what I did to fix the problem. First I inspected all my fuel lines and noticed that the pressure line from the exhaust was resting on the exhaust pipe near the engine and had a small hole melted in it. I replaced the fuel line and routed it so that it did not come in contact with the exhaust system. I also tightened the ring on the lid of the fuel tank.
