Well I should never tell people I'm going to get things or not get things. I just bought a venom procharger (because slowngreen made me do it), and I'm going to buy (shouldn't have said that) two turnigy 40c 5000 mah hardcases for my maxx mmm. I've heard that the mah rating is linked to the discharge rate? I think. Where might I find the best article about lipos? I need to learn.

C rating x mah rating equals discharge rate, so the turnigy packs you are buying can theoretically output 200 amps (burst).

So If I'm not mistaken, the MMM requires 120, meaning I'm plenty safe even if the batteries deliver slightly less than advertised?

I don't know the exact specs of the mmm, as castle has never published their max amp rating. You'll be fine running these packs as they allow some headroom for spikes in amperage.

Assuming you don't overgear and also run the appropriate size motor, your esc and packs will be fine. What rig is this going into?

Going into a new e-maxx BE. I know I have to set the voltage cutoff, and I should be good to go afterwords.

Yep you're good to go with those packs.
