They say practice makes perfect...LOL

How long will I have to practice and howmany times am I gonna break parts before i master this jumping business..I wonder

Took the revo down to the local skate park and practiced the art of jumping the car, over the take off ramps, there about 4 foot high and give a great take off with about 10-15ft of air depending on approach speed...

You really have to be quite delicate with the throttle and brake to get the car level for landing.. Put it on it's roof a coupe of times and nose dived a fair bit too.. Ended up breaking a push rod and trashing the front bulk head...

No big problem to repair had all the spares, also broke the two plastic bars that sit either side of the steering saver but had those spares too...

Good fun none the less...

Been out buying again today, now that i've gotten rid of the PITA optidrive with a FOC i have bought myself a failsafe.. Doesn't fit mind but still.. The extra bit of plastic for ensuring correct polarity is getting in the way but i think i'll just trim that off...

Also purchased some decent hex screwdrivers.. makes taking things apart a lot easier...

Also bought three more crystals so i can now go race if i want as the guys round here insist on at least four crystals too enable racing...

Now the really good news...

Found a guy who sells revo parts on ebay, got some insane deals..

Bought a whole exhaust with all parts for £8.50 .. retails at over £50
got me a new chassis just in case.. £5.50 retails £40
New wheels and tires £33.50 retails at £60

all these parts are brand new, gonna go to him for all my spares in future..
Quite clever how he does it but i won't reveal how he does it..

allin all i bought over £200 worth of bit's n bobs for £72.. that's a bargain in anyones book..

Still not sourced a good compressor yet but working on that..

Last thing i bought today was the hop up traxxas push rods X 4 5318X love the red colour... Hope they stand up to the battering i seem to be giving my truck..

Hope my driving skills improve soon, this is becoming a costly hobbie..

Brian.. (shh don;t tell the missus what i've spent, she'll kill me)

Brian:

Great news. Sounds like you are really getting the hang of things andhow to take apart and work on your revo.

The extra bit of plastic for ensuring correct polarity is getting in the way but i think i'll just trim that off...

Yes, exactly what you do. Some makes have that little piece molded in. Just trim it back until it fits. No other mods needed.

Once you get into it a bit more you'll start to try different setups. The ideal setup will make your truck fly level. By this I mean jump letoff the gas and the truck will fly level. It takes a while to get it there, but once you have it, you know you have it. Have fun with it!

Skate parks are funny but very hard for bad landings as the roof is cement, make a video next time, we want to see some carnage :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:, there is a pretty new skate park in my area, I'll go there as soon as I have my mammoth ready

I thought about hitting the local skate park with the T-Maxx, but it's about the size of a small swimming pool, and there's ALWAYS a cop stationed there.

Running my first RC, and already having to replace broken parts, and reading about all the others in the same boat, I wish these RC companies would go Public.... I'd buy a lot of stock. :opps:
