hey guys!! I'm still running the stock diff!! its over 2 1/2 yrs old too.
it still feels realy smooth, it dosent click or any thing it has about 6-7 gallons on it and it is absolutely fine!! is this too good to be true or is it gonna die now that i have the sirio in it??

have you ever cleaned and greased it in those 2 1/2 years youve had it? If you havent you should do that and while you have it apart you can check all the gears to see iff it is on its way out.

i think u just jixed urself... get ready to buy some new diffs. lol. i have never had diffs last that long, course i have only had my t-maxx for a little over a year.

it just seemed to good to be true. I've never opened it or any thing. i realy realy realy need to get new bearings for it though!!

u have never lubed it, put any greese in it? i didnt put any grease in my diff all summer and that thing was bone dry, metal on metal contact. u should really crack those things open and lube them up with some grease.

ill check it out when i get home, another thing i wanted to know was, now that i jinxed myself lol, what is a good diff replacement?? i know that when properly shimmed even the stock ones are decent, but I've already upgraded practicaly the whole truck so why not!! i kinda like the rrp one it shure seems pretty stout and I'm not runnin a big block so i dont think i need something crazy like maximizers.

go with the RRP they are nice work good, and should last a good amount of time. i have them and they work great. after a gallon ur suppose to shim them and re grease them. they go for around $40 a set which isnt bad.

The maximizers will still make the run longer. The pin the spider gears run on wear grooves in the grooves they are in over time. The maximizer cup is made out of 7075 al which is pretty hard, so the wear is pretty much non-existant if you use grease when you build them.

I've had my maximizers in with stock gears for about 2 gallons with a 21. Not a chip in the bunch. I do have a bit of bearing wobble though.
