Do AM and FM channels interfere with each other?

Can you run 2 cars at the same time with the same frequency but one is AM and the other FM??

I didn't think that was possible, to have the same freqs both in the AM and FM band. So, I'm not sure what's going on there. But regardless, two of the same freqs will interfere. Here is a link that will break down the 3 basic frequency bands used in R/C. 27MHz, 40MHz, and 75MHz.

Flash - please make sure u are knowledgabe on a subject before speaking. What u have said is incorrect.

rob - the difference between AM and FM freqs is the way the radio wave is transmitted. FM means frequency modulation - the wave pattern is adjusted in how many waves per second per foot. AM means amplitude modulation - the wave pattern is adjusted by the amplitude, or size, of each individual wave. Due to the wve size change, AM freq uses a larger bandwidth and is more suceptable to interference, FM will not have as good of a range, but will be a much clearer signal. BOTH AM AND FM CAN USE 27mhz and 75mhz frequencies. And YES, if 2 TX's are on the same channel, and one is FM, the other AM, they will interfere with each other.

I worked in the US Navy as a CTi in submarine radio rooms, so let me know if u have anymore questions.

I understand what AM and FM are and how it works I just wasn't sure if they would step on top of each other on the same channel. As usual, thanks for all the info.
