Aluminum is garbage unless you want a show truck.Rpm is great stuff and the stock are pretty good also and very cheap to replace. I just make sure I keep spares with me. You are best to put your money into performance upgrades such as servos,ofna linkage,tires and if ya feel like some awesome speed you could get a 3speed with an lrp spec3 powering it am I rambling and off topic.

I've already changed all the servos and that was one of my best mods to it and tires got me lots of different shoes for where I'm gna be taking it and the 3 spd tranny has been on my watch list on ebay

I can't speak from a Savage user standpoint but stock plastic or RPM is the way to go if you are looking for the most cost effective route. Sounds to me like stockers are the way to go though. Like I said, I can't speak of the Savage because I don't have one but RPM products WILL break if they take the right hit. I've always been a supporter of RPM products and I still am. They are extremely durable and their value cannot be beat. However, they are NOT indestructable. If you want a bulletproof truck Flextek make a set of Titanium arms that they claim are "indestructable". I've seen vids of this stuff.. they ain't no joke.. but neither is the price tag. If you never want to be down and out for a couple hours while you wrench this is the way to go if your pockets are deep enough. However, I think in a Savage it is not necessary. A TMaxx is a different story. I just blew out a set of RPM arms in mine.

BTW- FYI, RPM DOES in fact have an outstanding warranty. However, it is NOT a no questions asked warranty. Just because you break it, doesn't necessarily mean they will replace it. I have sent back a couple RPM products for warranty but I did not even bother with the last incident because it was totally obvious that it was not a faulty product or a durability issue that the part was designed for.
