Hi there;
I`m not satisfy with the XL`engine temp...it`s arorund 135c(275F)afte 6-7 working in the half throttle.
So I`ve read some posts in forums that replacing XL`s stock tuned pipe could help to drop temp.
I know that their are some branded tuned and ribbed pipe in the market like cen,BukU and....
So the only pipe that I found here in Iran is ALUMINUM TUNED PIPE (PURPLE/ 21+).

So I just wonder if anyone has tried this ...
Would it help me to drop engine`s temp?If the answer is YES so please tell me how well it works.
or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

The only way I could see this changing the temp of the engine is by it adding more back pressure to the engine and the fuel tank, making fuel flow easier and causing the fuel mixture to be richer.

would you please tell me how I can add some more back pressure to the engine?

The HPI polished pipe is what comes on the XL.

I would get an Ofna 086 pipe for it. Its not the best pipe for it but i doubt the K5.9 will last long. It really is a bad engine. The 086 will be good for your future engine.

If you can get one, the Losi HT LST pipe is a decent budget pipe. That purple pipe is the same as what the XL comes with I believe. So you won't be doing anything by getting it other than changing the color.

The Losi HT pipe has a smaller stinger outlet and is shaped a bit different. The smaller stinger gives you a bit more back pressure and I noticed when I changed mine out (LRP28S3 engine with HPI polished) on my aftershock and savage to run the Losi HT pipe, performance changed quite a bit as did my tune. I had to lean it out considerably to get it to run right and while I lost some low end grunt, I gained a lot more mid-high end power. Even though I had to lean it out, my temps dropped from average of 250-260 to 210-220 with better overall performance.

You can pick up the LST2 pipe or LST XXL pipe on Ebay (Losi HT pipe) for around $30 shipped usually. That's what I paid for my last one.

Just an FYI, that pipe is a side exhaust stinger pipe for a buggy. You can make it fit on a savage, but then your exhaust either blows out the side (vs straight down at the ground) or if you turn the pipe so it blows down, your pressure nipple will be pointed to the inside and possibly rub on the chassis.

As I said here in Iran I you can`t find branded tuned pipe the only thing that I found was HPI ALuminium TUNED PIPE .
Thanks Anyway
