I've a set of RPM towers on my T-Maxx.

They flex.
A lot.

Probably thanks to the combination of the weight of the XTM .247 conversion and my ass-first landing style. :)

Got some new aluminum shocks, d/r springs, heavy oil, etc. on the way. I'm thinking that it would be a god idea to replace (at a minimum) the rear RPM shock tower with an aluminum one - before my header gets any more dented.

Are there any recommended ones, or ones to avoid?

Also. I'd like to continue using the RPM body mount posts. Will these bolt on to any shock tower, or will I have to buy ones to match whatever tower I get?

I took a look at their offerings.

"... Our shock towers eliminate conventional body mount posts, so they must be used together with our roll cages."

so I'd have to cough up an add'l $105 for their roll cage?

The RPM body posts will ONLY work with the RPM Towers... I'm running Aluminum towers with stock plastic body posts... You need some flex in the posts to compensate... This should save your header and bulks...

You are right visioner, the RCS shock towers are meant to work with the roll cage. People have fabricated aluminum posts to go on the RCS shock towers, but you would be on your own for that. Machined alum shock towers like the ACNCM are strong but heavy.

I run the same as ImBroken. It works for me as I'm constantly landing on my ass. I had the same problem you did, except I'm running a 4 shock buggy shock setup. This puts a lot of pressure on one side of the shock tower all the time. So when you land on your ass, it makes them bend even more. My rpm tower was bending so much, it was crushing my fuel tank. 3 tanks later, I realized what it was. It was just so weird, I couldn't imagine the shock tower bending that far, but it was.

By the way, as others have said, RPM body posts only work with RPM towers. I bought the integy rear tower and I like it. Relatively cheap too.

I have Hardcore Racing shock towers on top of their bulkheads. BUT I am using stock body posts. Nice rigid set up keeps things from flexing where they shouldn't during my not so perfect flights and landings.
