any uk/ ebay members have a supplier of alloy spur gears??? for T-maxx 2.5/1.5

mine keep burning out and befor you say anything:

my T-maxx .15 yes o moved the engine and used locktight positioning it....and listend for the clicking sound.

on my 2.5 i let Traxxas UK fit the spur and re-build the tranny... and the engine is in the factory possition.

both models EAT SPUR GEARS like there is no tomorrow

i need help

:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

maybe its not the engine thats shaking but the gearbox?? maybe?? I'm guessing you dont use the trucks on flat roads?? lol

You REALLY do not want a metal spur as this will move the stress point to the tranny. This is harder to fix and more expensive.Look at your set up carefully does the motor mount move how about the tranny
what about your gear mesh these are all things to look at. Spur gears are cheap for a reason they SAVE your tranny imo

Tighten the engine up to the spur as much as you can then thread a piece of printer paper between the spur and the clutch bell. Tighten the engine bolts and you should be good.

Also make sure the tranny bolts are nice and tight.

I've had a similar experience on my 3.3
I was adjusting using paper, nipping the screws down good and tight, but it was still dropping out of mesh after a short while.
Turns out one of the screws which holds the engine to the mount had stipped a thread in the mount itself, and on the other side, the mount had actually cracked a small section away!!
I've now used longer screws and threadlock and so far (fingers crossed) everything has stayed as it should.

:)

This happened to me as well. I drilled out the screw holes and used longer screws with lock washers and a nut no problems since:D
