I've been quite remiss in my nitro activity.

I made a cool throttle return spring. I found that it helped tuning immensely as it would return the throttle to a true zero position better than the weak spring on the t/b servo. Before this the throttle would never return to a true zero point.

Since this superior advancement I have found an opportunity to hammer completely its effectiveness:

I hit something and I don't know what... but it hammered my fuel tank and took out both right rear shocks. Probably an endover.... I'm not looking to pin blame.

I've got the shocks covered... Unlimited Engineering...

Some of you guys have a good idea of what my truck looks like... I'm trying to find a suitable replacement tank that's better than the old one.

I've checked out this one: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEPJ0

It's capacity is no bigger than stock... only 125cc.

Does anybody have a suggestion for a bigger tank for a converted .21 T-Maxx?

try Ofna Buggy tanks they are 145cc that is a bit bigger.
I would stay away from the Slime line billet tank. It is a pain to refuel cause you have to unscrew the cap and then rescrew the cap. plus you can't see the fuel level

Your links aren't working.

BTW Welcome back, haven't seen you in a while.

EDIT..Neverminds. they are now for some reason. Nice links..

I definitely haven't been here in a while... I forgot how image links worked...

The pics should show up now...

Hi Tarant... Thank you Jon! I'm still in the game! (again in the game)

I want a fuel tank that bolts down to the same footprint as the original Maxx tank. If that's possible...

For Maxx's that is way better than the stock steering bellcranks. Mine used to buckle up.

Hey I dont know of a tank that is bigger but has the same foot print.
this is what I was thinking of it is a good starting place HERE

I have seen that the Mutant Maxx using the storm tank but I am not sure that would work as the chassis set up is much different. I am sure with a few extra holes it can be done.

Thanks Tarant... I've been all over Tower's site (and UE's) looking for tanks. That could very well be the one but I'd sure like to have one where I could be sure I wouldn't have to drill new holes through a titanium chassis... The stock Maxx tank mounts are a perfect match at this point.

That might sound pretty anal but that's just me...

A tank bigger than 125cc is a major plus. A bigger tank that wouldn't interfere with the servo horn would make me orgasmic.

JUst try to have fun with the Maxx first...

I'd like to keep my holes to a minimum....

every time I come here I catch flak.... what is it is with you bastards? :wban:

catching flak huh well fly better :jk:
That is just the way jon2 is he is a bit crazy :jk:
good luck with all your things

If I could drive better I probably wouldn't have capped all my poop.

And don't apologize for Jon.....

I wasn't planning on it but ok I won't...

All work and no "flak" makes no one want to come back.

Eddie? Scottm? Skymaxx? What's your throttle horn arrangement? Is it dangerously close to your fuel tank? Did you rearrange your components?

I don't know if anyone has a setup anywhere near close to mine...

Jon... it's good to see another staff member! You're right, I haven't been here in a while. Congratulations!

Drilling holes in titanium is a bitch and I'd rather not do it if a there's a manufacturer that has a solution.

Tarant? Are you saying that tank has the same footprint?

that spring looked nice... I was wondering why you didn't use a longer one and try to find somewhere else to mount it.
I need to come up with one for my tmaxx.

Glad to see ya back Hicks.... I have basically the same setup on my converted maxx... My servo horn on the post, is a bit smaller than yours, & has caused me no problems at all... Made it through the jump contest at ECB II without any issues.. You might want to look into a smaller horn...
Nice throttle return mod... lol Where'd ya get the little pulley...

Thanks Tac. I figure with the pulley method the whole assembly is a bit more compact. With a straight pull I really have nothing to anchor to.

You're gonna laugh... that pulley wheel is one bead out of a 10,000 bead craft kit that belongs to my daughter. It was perfect. The yellow frame is a piece of a cheap plastic toy that I machined with a dremel. A piece of push rod is glued in for the axle.

I knew it had to be something like that.... lol Ingenuity... A roller guide from an offshore fishing rod may look pretty cool for a pulley.. Hmmm

I ran the OFNA buggy tank in my 21 maxx, but it requires some moving around of parts and some holes to be drilled.

The aluminum tanks suck. I had one for about 2 month. They are a pain to get into in a hurry and you can't see your fuel level. If it had a flip top lid, then I would have kept it, but the screw lid gets gritty over time with aluminum filings.

If I fished that might be what you would have seen in the picture! I was thinking an old CD-Rom drive might a miniature pulley to scavenge but I don't have any layin' around.

ARRrrggghh! I just bought one.

I can live with not seeing the fuel level. Maybe if I spray ArmorAll on the cap I won't grind the aluminum and my fuel will stay foam free too.
