I'm wondring if its a good idea to run a full robinson racing gear set for trans, diff and spur gear?weve stripped a couple of idlers and spurs latley so thinking of swaping out to the full rr setup, anyone use these products?

Their gears are good. However, I'd recommend loosening your slipper clutch a quarter turn before doing anything that drastic.

if your using big tires like masher 2ks i would recomend a VERY strick tranny maintainance schedule. metal gears are good but i felt they were unnecesary for regular racing/bashing in the 1 1/2 years that i had my GT i dident even begin to strip one idler. also remember adding more metal to the truck just puts more stress on the parts that haven't hopped up on yet.

going to be running a .18 motor and id like to make the drivetrain as strong as possiable limiting the amount of rebuilds.i will lossen up the slipper,(thanks for the tip)just wondring if theres any bad "side effects" for building an all alloy/titanium trans. I'm just using regular size truck tires but i do run on pavement, grass so traction and wheelies are high.my sons rtr gt has only lost 1 idler in probably 4 gal fuel but my higher hp ft gt eats em up much faster.
also does anyone know if anyone builds the alum trans case halves other than gpm racing?

I would go with the RRP setup, just not with the spur gear. You need a weak point, and that is the cheapest/easiest to get to if it strips... The GPM gear cases are nice, and i use em, just dont use stainless steel screws with them... There are a few "custom" tranny cases made, i just forgot the names...

thanks for the help.so all metal except for the spurgear for the week link.how often and what kind of lube should i use in there if its all alloy with the hg titanium top shaft?

The idler will be hardend steel and the diff will be aluminum. I just use plain old bearing grease for the lube.
