Guys,

I finally got my 18t on the road yesterday. I am still waiting on my Associated turnbuckles to come in, but I was able to find a solution to my problem until those come in. I put a turnbuckle from Losi on and it was a perfect fit. Although the losi turnbuckle was not as beefy, it worked perfectly!

Anywho.... I charged up the battery, put it in, programed the ESC and let er rip! Man that Tekin 6800 makes that 18t fly... let me tell you. The run times are unreal as well. I must have run that thing for almost 20 minutes! Those Reedy mini packs rock! The only thing though is that I blew a diff right at the end of the run. I was running down the driveway and I hit the brakes and it did a 360 and then when I hit the throttle again I heard a poping coming from the back of the truck. I am assuming it is the diff.... it is the stocker and I have a set of super diffs coming in. Hopefully that is the problem and not the bearing in the motor.

Well I have to run I just figured I would share the joy. I will need a few sets of road rage tires though the way this thing screams. I am going to eat up some rubber!

get the MT tires...makes it alot more stable and gives your arms a little more cushion when you tag things.....the diffs are a serious weak spot until you get the Mip ones....those plastic outdrives can't handle the torque at all when you go to modded motors......wait til you try Lipo for the pack....longer run time AND faster off the line......

I have the mamba 6800 and I've gone through a few sets of diff gears and a set of diff cups, you'll be fine with the MIP super diffs tho, I have one in the rear and I haven't had a problem yet. Be sure to pic up a few extra sets of diff gears tho...

Cool! I hope those diffs are in tonight... The dog needs another workout! LOL She loves chasing that truck around. I will look into the MT tires to see how they work. I have a set of foams already. Thanks guys.

Did you get the metal SS clips I sent yet?
Does it wander under power?

Make you sweat when you go past 1/2 throttle doesn't it :D
I'm using foam tires and it sticks like glue to the pavement.

Hey Mr FastEddy!

No, I have not gotten the SS Clips yet. It usually takes about 4 or 5 days for mail to reach me from the West Coast. They should be here today though. I really appreciate you sending them out for me. I can't wait to get them put on. My steering wonders some kind of crazy too! I am running just the stock setup and at speed that truck is all over the road. Yes... I am sweating bullets past half throttle... It is like that thing hits turbo... it is gone... in fact I get going so fast that when I apply even the slightest brake... I am sent into 360's.. it is actually kinda cool! LOL I have a set of the foam tires and I think I will give them a try once I get the diffs and SS clips installed.

Man this thing is so much fun! My stepson came out with me and he brought his little corded RC buggy and after a few seconds he wanted to trade! I let him drive it and he did just fine... granted he kept it at a crawl but he did very well. He asked if he could have one like that.... and I told him maybe Santa will bring him one if he puts it on his list. He got so excited. I can't wait for him to open his on Christmas day! I don't know why I waited so long to try one of these things!

Tom,
Play with the ESC programming and add a "Touch" of drag brake. What this does is applies a small amount of breaking when the trigger is in neutral. This will help slow down the truck when you let off the throttle. You can play with the radio settings if you have a an exponential setting as well. Make it so the first half the brake pull only accounts for around 10% of the total available brake power.

Cool I will give it a shot. My diffs and CVD's came in today so I will definitely be playing with that tonight. I am only running an XS3 radio but I believe I can set the expo setting for the brake. The 360's is probably what broke the diff gear. At least I hope that is what is causing the poping noise! Once you program your ESC do you just hit the mode button to set the Drag Brake? Thanks
