How do you guys travel by plane with your rc's? What about the fuel tank and engine? Can I just wash my tank and dry it out? Do I need new fuel lines? Stuff like that. I'm going to the beautiful island of Kauai for a week in about 3 weeks and I'm bringing my Savage. Any Help would me much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I think all you would really need to do is get all the fuel out and you'll be fine. Don't take any fuel with you. It's not allowed on planes so you'll have to buy the fuel when you get there.

Your best bet would be to call the airline direct and get it straight from the horses mouth. Some airlines will allow you to take it as long as there is no fuel in it at all, others wont allow it at all.

In the past I have packed it all in a box and checked it in.
You should remove the fuel.

As of late I have turned to UPS. I found it more convenient to send my RC s and equipment first.

Call the airline.

I'm to freakin scared to send mine UPS. I was going to carry on and put it in my lap. If I saw my badass truck or buggy poop I would steal it.

Then it would appear that you have nothing to worry about.

Well-Called Airlines (Hawaiian Airlines and Aloha Airlines) and they said it can't even smell like fuel or they might not take it. So how can I clean out my fuel tank and fuel lines? Also-my friend on Kauai has a brand spankin new NTC3...I think its a Hpi vs. Ae challenge coming up soon!:contract:

well, where would that be going? On the airplane! And they will just take alook at it and think its some kind of bomb housing and not let me on! Id rather have them all connected so it really looks like a truck! But hey, good idea. Ill ask them about that one. Keep em comin'

I really thought they would be more worried about the radio equipment the a couple drops of nitro.

Is there a way I can wash my tank with water then dry it out completely with an air compressor?
