Might be wrong, but that could be a bad front bearing, spraying fuel.

Let's start with the obvious first. A lot of people prefer to seal the engine before they ever start it, to avoid problems later on.

you guys are really helpful was wondering if the high temp rtv would work on exhaust side too we used to use it on street cars before finding a better fix

It's not necessary on the exhaust side. You only need a proper connection and sometimes a gasket.

a hole in the line, on either side will cause problems.
