We took the family to the local Rogue Eagle 23rd annual air show. What a blast. I snapped some pictures in the pits...unfortunately I left my back up battery on the charger and grabbed the used one....so I ran out of juice.

Anyway here is what I got.

First my favorite of the show . this is a replica of a B25. Twin engine of course.

The show off area.

The one I may try to build one day...the Piper Cub.

This particular plane has won and still holds many speed records....ducted fan power? I Think? 236 MPH or something like that.

Lawnmower races were the hit for the kids. these things look fun to fly. That bi Plane was owned by the same guy with the ducted fan.....it was the fasted bi plane I have ever seen fly.....amazing stuff.

P52?? I am not sure ...nice plane.

The local guys really have put together a nice facility...its ten minutes from my house. I see them out there every day just about working on the grounds or practicing on my drive to town. These are the pits....not allowed over there as they are about to start flying.

More beauties.

This one was complete to scale and EVERYTHING WORKED they gave a a demo later...incredible.

They used this WW 1 replica in a "cut the ribbon" dog fight that was fun to watch. The tow plane was a vintage bi plane.

dude thats some awesome shots, and great looking rigs. flying is big where i just moved to (so close to elington, and nasa) i may have to go check them out!

Nice show. No ducted fans that I could see. They're for jets, mounted internally.
It's fast due to fuse shape, high performance engine and biting prop. Even the full sized Cap 232s are nasty fast.

All you little girls are scared to fly!
Not that bad guys.
Serious.

I started out flying rc. To be honest, I think there is more upkeep on the cars.
I spent a lot of time building, but it was something I enjoyed. After my aircraft was built, I just flew.
Clean up at the end of the day.

Always trash something on a car, so we come home and work on it.

Any of you guys been thinking of building? http://www.spadtothebone.com/freeplans.htm Plans are free, not hard to build. You'll have $15 or $20 in the airframe.... Crash it...Still have the motor and radio, just build another. If you have built any kind of a kit, you won't have a problem.

It's the building I enjoy the most. I spend so much time on perfection and finish, that my knees shake when I fly them. When I get an ARF, I can really bang it against the sky with no worries, since a CC will get me another one instantly.
Compared to RC cars and trucks, the planes are almost maintenance free.

Nice pics Talon.......

Seeing those really isn't helping the urge I have to fly.....still to hot where I'm at though.

And yea, compared to the cars/trucks, I'd much rather fly my heli's. More maintenance than a plane but nothing compared to the cars/trucks, ya' don't have to come home and wrench on them after an enjoyable day.....just clean'em up and put'em up...LOL

Yea its got me jittering to get a plane...........but I have to build my Hyper ST Pro first. ;) SO as to keep peace in the family.

Well, I couldn't take it any longer....lol....after I posted, I went out and fired up the Raptor, hovered a tank through it and called it good for awhile.

Hopefully the temps will drop in the next few weeks and I can get out and do some sure enough flying. Too hot for anything with a nitro engine right now....well, to make a day of it anyway.....

Wow, I am not for flying... I get dizzy playing halo now. Looks like a lot of fun though!!!

I love the building too, Rolex. Built 3 from plans.
One made it into Model Airplane news. Flew it for 2 years before my thumbs caused a collison with mother earth. Still got the engine and radio though. Engine been in 5 planes? Radio in at least 3.
One flew for about 10 years. My bro finished it off last year.
Last one is still in flying condition. Needs a battery in the radio. It flew for 3 years.

Got a few plans I'm wanting to try. Beech Staggerwing or Der Jager are at the top of the list.

Just the challange of building something that is going to fly. I love it.
Then when I do get it out there, I'm scared it's going to crash. First flight is always the hardest.....

Well, there is also the last flight....

Ain't that a bitch?

I've built many through the years. A few are still with me. There's the big ducted fan F-15 in my gallery (sold it) 7' span sail planes, delta wing push prop jets, Piper Cub, and several I've forgotten. Currently I'm picking away on a huge 81 1/2" span Cessna 182, with the full detailed interior kit. I have a feeling it will be a ceiling queen when it's finished. Some planes are just to beautiful to risk putting into something as dangerous as air.

Would that happen to be the Top Flight Cessna?
Buddy of mine has been building on one for sometime. Looks like a nice kit.
