I think my HSP Boomwheel 1:8 Nitro Truck has an air leak. It has some crazy symptoms. When it starts, it idles OK, then after a while, when the engine heats up, the idle sounds very high pitched all the time. When you give it some gas it drives away OK but when it stops the high pitch idle sound continues. When I switch off the engine and listen there seems to be a hissing sound coming from somewhere. This only happens when the engine is still hot. At this time, when the engine is hot, I am unable to prime it again. When you try blowing fuel into the Carb,(Prime the engine), the fuel just runs back into the fuel tank.

What is the best way to look for and find an air leak? Any help will be much appreciated.

If there is hissing sound ,it maybe the truck running too hot!
Try richening your HSN a 1/4 of a turn an see if that cures the fuel issue.
The air leak would be either in the tank lid seal or in the fuel line
Take loose the fuel line from the muffler & carb.,an blow in the tube side that came off muffler
while pinching the tube that goes to the carb at the end off.

If you lose air ,then you have an air leak.
If not ,then you may not be getting enough pressure to the tank from the muffler.

Has this motor seen a lot of fuel threw it? I would advice to check your hsn/lsn/idle . It could be a case where you are running to lean on the top end. Start her up do a few speed passes get the motor warm and start with richening the high speed needle then go from there.
