I'm new to RC, just cleaned my air filter in some warm soapy water and its dried. Do i need to prep anything before putting it back in or do i just put it in as it is

make sure u use Air Filter Oil on the foam piece. put the foam air filter piece in a plastic bag with a little bit of the AFO and massage the air filter in the AFO. keeps ur hands from gettin all greasy. The AFO helps trap the very small dirt particles from getting in the enigne. if u dont have any AFO u could use some After Run Oil or 3 in 1 oil. thats what some of the other member use.

You need to thouroughly coat it with RC specific air filter oil. You can get it at your LHS.

For the future, saturating it with wd-40, working it in your hand, then washing it, will get it to look like new.

If your in a bind and don't have any air filter oil, use some light oil (3-in-1, wd-40) on the air filter. I wouldn't suggest doing it with this very often thoguh.

If you have a Pre FIlter like for offroad I wouldn't oil that one just the one underneath. If you are running in Really dusty air then yes go ahead and oil away. I use Associated ARO. It works great for me.

I generally keep my filters pre oiled ready to use in a ziplock type bag. Since most ziplocks are not EP resistant I generally choose a heavier gauge bag like Oberto Jerky bags.

Dam EP ever ate one by accident. I do like that Idea as the ziplocks tend to stick together when left alone with ARO in it.

EP do you recommend eating the jerky before using the bag or just dump it lol!
Yep, I use zip lock bags to put OFO on my foams. It's a must.
