I'm a big fan of K&N air filters if it was up to me that's all i would use.... I came across this air filter in the mid 90s i got it from my Kyosho Land Max....It really improved the preferences of my vehicle(GS.21Kyosho engine) so much so that's the air filter i prefer. ... My question is can i use any kind of filter oil on my K&N air filter including oil that's around 10 + years old ?

You might want to read this before continuing to use that filter. I dont know the answer to you question as I've never used one because of the reasons listed in the post below. Seeing as how youve been using them since the mid 90's you may have heard this before and you might not agree with it but most people do agree with it so I thought id point out just as food for thought.

20141005_151637.webp 20141005_152150.webp Well here's the K&N filter I use i haven't used it for a while.... I got it from one of my hobby shops....I've had this filter years before the T maxx hit the seen...... I was told to buy 2 or 3 for i will NEVER see them again..... Truth be told i haven't neither..... I've ONLY used this filter on my Kyosho GS .21 engine... It seems like it was made for this motor or something. .... I don't know why i don't put it on my Hyper 21(8port)20141005_151637.webp .....I think it gets in the way of the high speed needle. ... The K&N oil was red... I have been using this on all my other filters for over 10 years. .... I don't see a experation date so i still use it.....

It's what going on the .26 Revo once I get the rest of the parts bought for it.

The breather or the Motor Saver? The Motor Saver worked great on my BB Revo.

The foam is the only thing filtering on the K&N, those are crankcase breathers, they were never meant to be put on an RC Nitro engines carburetor.

When you get the MS filter, only the outside foam gets oiled, the inner is supposed to be dry.
I do this even on my Traxxas high flow filters now.

The one on the .28 will work for now. :)

It's the other way around. The outside is dry, and you can remove it an just flick the dust off to clean it. On the rare occasion that dust gets through it will get stuck on the oiled inner foam. If you oiled the outer foam you will have a sticky filter that's clogging the air flow with oily mud.

What the old man says is correct. The only part of a Motor Saver filter that should be oiled is the inside filter, the inner most foam. The screen and outer foam filters remain dry.

Thank you I was getting worried for a bit.
