i got a question. i bought a 40 tooth spur gear and a motor saver filter that says it for a revo 2.5R but for some reason theres not enough clearance between the spur and the new filter i bought. I've heard of some people modifying the stock filter pipe to fit the MS filter head. i dont know how to do that or i would or should i change my spur back to the stock 38T. i also have some clearance problems between the 40T spur and the clutch bell. i don't know how to adjust it now that i put the bigger one in there. can someone explain to me how to adjust the motor to get the right clearance? if anyone can help me out let me know. i wanted to try and take it out for a spin today

i had the same problem. it only takes seconds to chew threw it.. i dont know what others did, but i heated the throat up with heat gun and remolded it. just find something round, like a tube or fat magic marker. once you get it molded into place, quicly dip it in cold water so it will hold its shape.. i checked for other thraots but couldnt find anything without buying one of everything..

did you have a 40T spur? or would it still do the same thing with the stock spur?
i also have clearance problems between the clutch bell and spur. and i can't figure out what to adjust to slip a piece of paper in there. i know it was to tight of a fit

I HAD ALL THREE.. 36,38,&40, but mostly ran the 40. i dont know what you meen by the clutch bell is too close to the pur.. are you sure your slipper clutch is laying down right.. ya know with all the plates and everything??

and i never used the paper, but it is a good trick.. i would put the gears together so they were tight and back it off till you can get a good spin from the spur gear..its tight in there with that little peace of paper...

yeah it was just a little hard to turn by hand i wanted to make sure its not going to tear up either the spur or CB. there must be a way to adjust it to make it a little farther apart

I believe you are talking about the mesh between your cluthbell and spur gear. Installing the larger spur has caused the mesh to be to tight. You have to loosen the engine mount bolts and adjust the position of the engine until the mesh is properly set. Be sure to use locktite on your engine mount bolts. Hope this helps.

yeah thats exactly what I'm talking about. I'm just confused about what screw to losten to move the engine to get that correct mesh between them.

I'm not sure about the 2.5 but on my 3.3 thier is one bolt below where the easystart motor is that if loosened allows you to pivot the engine side to side. If yours is set up the same way that would be what you are looking for.

i just got it started and its running like a champ. thanks again sublime. the mesh is perfect now
