ok so i put in a bigger engine (axial .28)
upgraded the clutch shoes
and threw on a tuned pipe

other than that what else can i dod to make this this faster
its already pretty fast and it scares me at times but i want to sent it back in time hahah
any suggestions?:D

you could do the tranny mod. it will increase your acceleration time but will also increase your top speed.

The gear flip mod in the tranny is great. Found it on a dedicated LST site. Google is your friend.

ok so I've been looking around and it seems i dont need to buy anythign just crack open the tranny and switch the gears around. since i am new at this i will just go buy a tranny and f@#k with that one rather than mess up a perfectly working one.
any other suggestions?

The trans mod is easy on the aftershock because the trans is almost empty. Take both main normal looking gears off their shafts and switch them. Then you dremel the case a bit to get the gear to spin without rubbing, but that's all you do.

Here's a photo of mine from a recent repair of replacing the two speed shaft:

The two gears on the left are the gears you switch. You can see the grinding I did on the lower edge by the lower gear.

I believe that mod makes up the equvilant to +1 pinion gears.

Then you can buy losi's +1 bell:

Or, skip the trans mod and get a +2 or higher set of pinions along with an LST1 threaded bell:

You can find + sized LST pinions here:
1st gear pinions: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=rcm2spdgears1st
2nd gear pinions: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=rcm2speed2nd

Just make sure you get the ones that are + the same amount for both gears over 18/25.

So:
19/26
20/27
21/28
22/29
23/30

I'm running an LRP28 with normal MT sized tires (t-maxx chevrons) with the trans gear flip mod and +3 pinions (21/28). Seems to pull pretty good even with savage sized tires which are a bit larger diameter than t-maxx tires.

well i got the conversion kit thingie and did the swap. will go drive it tomorrow with my friend who has a savage and is just slightly faster than mine cause of his 3 speed tranny. i will let you guys know how it all turns out.

ps looks like the bigger clutch bell is next on the list. if anything i can put the aftershock in the back seat of my car and go drive on the freeway that will make it go faster:hehe:

when you did that on your tranny did you use shims? is it absolutely neccesary? my shafts didnt wiggle or move so i didnt think i needed to use the shims

I used whatever I took out, the first time. That photo is a photo of an LST2 (with reverse and high/low) input shaft that I drilled a hole through so I could use it in my trans. If you notice on the shaft near the lower right corner of the photo, I have two standard 4mm bearing inner races as spacers. In my mind, the AS shaft didn't have a spacer there but rather the shaft was cut to hold the bearing in place. But, a week after I did the mod, I found a spacer under my workbench that is about the size of two bearing races...

I don't see any shims in my photo though. I found the original photo on my PC which is a much higher rez (larger) image and there aren't any shims in the trans at all on those shafts.
