Hello all. I just received an aftershock limited in the mail yesterday. I traded a tmaxx for it that i was about to put on ebay. This truck is frustrating the hell-o out of me. I have bought an 1400 mah orion battery for it (the receiver) and fresh lithium batteries in the transmitter. On initial turn on, the truck has good steering, throttle and brake response. After about 10 seconds i have no steering. Sometimes no throttle. The radio and receiver is the 2.4 ghz stock losi gear. I have nothing but the truck and the radio gear. What can possibly be going wrong. The truck is new with only 8 tanks thru it. 9 with the tank that i just idled thru it. Please help, I'm ready to run this thing. This is my first losi truck.

Are you sure the 1400mah orion battery is holding a charge and taking a charge?

Maybe cobble together a 4-cell AA holder and put some alkalines in it just to see if it makes a difference.

If it doesn't, then you have something failing that is either draining your battery silly fast, or overheating and not working properly.

I have not tried 4 alkalines. I have tried the 1400 mah Orion 6 volt, an 1100mah traxas 6 volt (new) and also 7.2 volt 2200 mah lipo venom. Nothing has made a difference. I called horizon hobbies and they are sending a new reciever. I hope that is the problem. The receiver did work for about an hour straight with no problems. But then its back to being problematic again.

Ok. Wasn't sure what all you tried.

Does the receiver have an open port? If so, you can maybe try plugging the battery in the open port vs the battery port. Just make sure to plug it into the correct 2 pins and it should still supply power. Could be a damaged limiting circuit on the battery specific port, which may be bypassed if you use another open port.

Since they are sending you a new one, what do you have to lose at this point?
