Is there an advantage to using a high torque servo for the throttle & brake? Will the brakes work better with an HT servo?

Yes - brakes will work better.

HOWEVER, I will make one thing very clear about a high torque servo on the throttle side, YOU CAN BUST YOUR CARB and/or cause chassis flex if you do not set your end points corectly. Some servos are VERY strong hehehe

I messed up a slide carb once with one on an O.S. mill. Just be careful in setting it up and make sure the end points are correct.

I had that issue once as well. Hit the brakes and see your chassis fold like a bad poker hand.

Nice point about breaking your slide carb, I never really thought about that one. It's always a good idea to check your EPA. I know that a HT servo definitely does help your braking.

Agree, set those endpoints. Along with the electonic settings, you can use springs or even small segments of fuel tubing to act as a cushion. I prefer tubing, it just feels more progressive than springs. Anyways, the whole point is for the springs/tubing to absorb the excess torque. With this and the end points set, you'll be golden.
