I have had on my computer for a while now and I know that there is a red eye reduction for it but I can't remember/find where. Can anyone help me know which tab and which option to use this feature? Thanks.

My copy of 7.0 caused too many problems in the computer, so it's been uninstalled. I currently use 4.0 in one computer, and 5.5 in the other. I just checked the help index in 5.5 and there was no listing for red-eye.
If you can't find it in the help menu, you need to click ONE red eye with the magic wand tool, then go to 'Image' then 'adjust' and correct it with the hue and intensity and brightness and contrast. Make sure the 'preview' box in that window is checked and you can see the changes as you alter it. Make note of the numbers when you have it where you want it, then do the other. There's no way a photo program can compensate for red eye without affecting other color and brightness setting in the photo, that's why you have to select it with the wand. You can also freehand it with the lasso tool, or use the magnetic lasso tool to follow the outline as long as there's a good contrast with an adjoining color. To get the magnetic lasso, click and hold on the lasso till 3 box options open up, then slide the cursor and click the one you want. Then double click it and the options box opens on the top right, and select the number for it's sensitivity.

6.0 has been stable mable for me. I too had problems with 7, it was in the early release stages though. I haven't tried it in quite some time.

HB, do you remember anything within the program specifically for red-eye? The only thing I can think of with red-eye was a setting in the cameras.

If I'm not mistaken a red-eye removal wasn't added until PS 8 (or CS) however here's a tutorial that you'll find useful.

Worked like a dream. Thanks.

That was not the pic I was working on. I was taking pics of a nude model yesterday afternoon and I noticed that most of the 300 pics ended up having red eye and I was thinking it might have been 2 wasted hours.

Taking pics of naked models? Damn your one lucky Mo Fo!!!

Dont use Photoshop. I use Paintshop and I find it a hell of a lot more user friendly than PS. For simple things like red eye removal, its simple as. Have a look at some of the stuff I've done with PSP 7. CLICK HERE TO SEE EM Sorry i dont have the originals on that site

Nothing against another program, well actually yes, installing another program would mean two of three things, first and foremost it would be another program I'd have to buy and second it would be another I'd have to learn. I am noticing that as I am getting older I am becoming more and more set in my ways and I fear change. I state though, since I am retiring from the Army soon and looking into being a photographer as a way of paying the bills maybe learning another program might be what I need to help my future endeavors.

Yeah, I'd show a pic but most of the ones that I took would get me banned if I posted them. Here's a sample from the session that I can post:

Also, this was one of the ones I fixed the red eyes in.

Every guy's dream job.
EP, stay with photoshop. It's a long time learning process, because it offers so much, but it's professional level. The program of choice for most people who don't want any limits to what can be done with photos.
