ok so i just read an thread about how the hump back is alot better for quick respones and longer lasting. As of now i have AA's and would like to make the switch. So can some one give me a list of parts i would need to get to make this happen and also a good batterie to use because I'm clue less on what type or brand or how big of battier to get. Thanks

I use a racer's edge 5 cell flat pack on my maxx. It's got 1600 mah, and I used a revo power switch. The power switch is zip-tied to my shock tower but I'm going to find a better way soon. I know there are better ways to do it I just haven't gotten that far on this project yet. That's all you need is a switch and a 5 cell pack. I drilled 2 holes in my chassis and used two zip ties to hold the battery, after wrapping it in electrical tape. Like I said, there are better ways to do this. Give it time and someone will chime in with better advice for ya.;)

thanks ya I'm using all stock traxxas set up so we will see if any one else can help to thanks again

Pretty sure the easiest way is to get a new switch and a hump pack.
Switch with charge lead jack would be the simplest, but may require a bit of dremeling on your current battery box to fit it: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPNU2&P=ML

A bit smaller one, but the charge lead is just a wire, so you will need to cut a notch somewhere in the box so it can hang out for you to get at it: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWGJ9&P=7

I believe a typical 5 cell hump pack will fit in the AA spot:

battery pack

I just bought the flat 5 cell and took my old battery box, removed switch, be sure to only cut the wires to the old battery holder you will need those. Then strip some wire back on battery pack wires then place the switch (with reciever plug till attatched to it) to the bare wires and taped it up ( gonna use shrink wrap whe i get it). Then take battery box and some Dikes and cut the switch divider out and place battery in it and you can screw it back down, there is even room to make new hole for switch to put it back in (if you want). I havnt got my hump pack in yet for my other tmaxx but I think it might fit without any mods to it, the batteries arent any wider then the battery box and dont think they will be any taller either.

Here are some pics, Still a work in progress will be much neater when done.

hope that helps

I used a Venom Hump back it fits right in side the old battery box fine! I used a male connector coming off of the reciver box and the hump back it self has a female end that you plug into a direct line of power "no switch" . To cut the power just unplug it for charging the same way get a female adapter that plugs into your 7.2 charger so you plug it in to charge it.

But thats just the way I did mine but their are many ways to skin this cat find out what works for you but saying your going to get one and not use AA's your already halfway there.

I like that first switch. My setup works for me because I won't run if there's so much as a puddle around.

That helps alot! i have some things here i think i will make my own make shift one like rcmedic did. thanks guys for the help!

this is an easy fix which i have done myself, what you need to buy are the hump pack and traxxas parts 4925x and traxxas part 3034, this will save you from cutting any wires and will keep everything sealed just like you do have just now hope it goes well
