A very unpleasant transaction with USA HOBBY store

Howzit going guys.Just thought id let you guys know that USA hobby store is not a good place to do business with.I dont know if its just me but a few weeks back i sent them a money order for $56 for my .21bb fridge head.I received a phone call from Calvin Hall and told me that they have the Fridge head with red top in stock,so i rushed at the post office to get the money order and sent it to them 4/8/2003.Last week i called them and told me that theyre going to box it and ship it out,Checked back with them today and the guy i talked to over the phone said that they dont have it and will be arriving tomorrow.This guys are giving me the run around.I asked for a refund and was told that hell charge me re-stocking fee.What a lamer,Charging me for something they dont even have in stock.A few minutes later after threatning him that i will file a complaint at their local BBB he called me back and told me that he spoke to his secretary and sending me my money order back.This way of doing business should be illegal.I would never do business with this LAMERS.

Although Hobby Town is a franchise and are independantly owned I have not had the best of luck with the two I have done buisness with either. Glad you got your money back.

I havent got it back yet.I got a feeling that this guys going to try to screw me.And its USA HOBBY not HOBBY TOWN.Are they the same company????

i was just thinking of an idea.If one of our fellow hobbyist here has the parts were looking for in their LHS maybe he can buy it for us and vice versa .If somebody needs a part and one of us has it at our local HS we can but it for them. It may come with tax and shipping but atleast we know for sure that its there.

Dont get down...I've had over 3 bad online transactions. In the end it works out. Most of the times. Whatever your buying (head) is probably worth the wait. Just keep asking and be persistent!:devil:

Hobby Town USA is my LHS, I have had really good luck with them. Its a lot easyer in person though.

I'm talking about USA HOBBY STORE AgM .I ordered a pipe mounting kit from Hobby town and their service is fast.I'm happy with them.I dont mind waiting Silent but my case with USA HOBBY is different tho..I was waiting for a part that they dont even have.What really made me mad is they have the nerve to tell me that theyre charging me re-stocking fee after i asked for a refund .Those guys must be on Crack.How could they re-stock something that they dont even have in their store to begin with..lols

I had a problem with tesllc.com, stands for total entertainment and sports, but they sell some hop-ups for the Savage. I ordered the hot bodies shocks from them and 3 days later I called to get an update and the guy said they shipped out the night before. So i'm like cool should be hear in accouple of days, later that day I got an e-mail that said they were backordered and I won't get them for another week so I canceled the order and got the GPM shocks.
Right now I'm waiting for my 3 shoe clutch I ordered from Nitrohouse.com I placed it on may 7 and got 3 of the things I ordered on the 22nd, but no clutch. I don't mind waiting but I would like to know that it is out of stock sometime, I'm calling them tomarrow.

To put the finishing touches on my story, I called nitrohouse.com today and got informed that the part is not even in stock and they don't backorder so I have to reorder it when it comes in. I'm glad I called them so I can order from someone else. Nitrohouse will not tell you if the part is out of stock if you order online so I don't recomend them. It's times like these that I wish I had a good LHS mine deals entirely in boats and planes.

I have a question for all of you about LHS's. Am I missing out on something here? I live in Orlando, not that big of a town, and there are 8 hobbyshops within a 45minute drive. Most are friendly, and if they dont have what i want they will order it, and it will be there within 2 - 5 days. Almost everyone of them are willing to match whatever price tower advertises on its website. Therefore i never order anything online, or over the phone. Am I just lucky, or do you guys know something i dont?

From now on i decided to order my parts from my LHS.I can pre pay for it if its not in stock rather than sending my money to some of these online HB.I just dont trust these guys anymore.I was better off ordering from ebay.

By the way guys.I spoke with Darren Martin,He's the guy that manufactures the ally parts for adrenaline.Real cool guy.Hope to see him here soon.Gave him this site and he said he was going to drop by.Adrenalines link doesn't seem to be working anymore but you can contact him at [email protected].

Bwesley, Most of the time they wont tell you that its out of stock.Thats just the way they run their business.I'm in the business of selling aftermarket auto parts b4 and i learned from competitors that even if you dont have them in stock tell the customer that you have them.Its very dishonest thats why i got out of it.Most of them try to be competetive at our own expense.the thing that really ticks me off is if you ask for a refund and they already know that its their mistake to begin with theyll still try to charge you some kind of fees.Alweays blaming it on their computer(oldest trick).Of all the HS that i dealt with i would say TOWER is the best.Try to stay away from this fly by night HS.
