HPI filter works just fine:

The brakes will work as long as you buy the complete assembly. The hub, pads, disks. I run them on my savage. They don't work very well at all when oil/fuel gets on them, so be careful. They won't "eventually" start working either. You have to sand the stupid things as the oil soaks in a bit.

You will need an air filter designed for a big block engine (.21+ size). The air filters for a small block have a smaller diameter on the elbow so they won't fit. Motorsavers makes an air filter just for the Savage and it fits perfectly and works great. Highly recommend them. Stock filter is fine too.

The XL has the same brakes as the X, but yes they will fit the Savage 21. I also upgraded to the dual fiberglass brakes on my Savage 25 (Same as the 21 aside from the engine.). Make sure you get the full kit. I made the mistake of not buying them with the brake hub, so I had to spend almost double what I payed for the brakes alone. But no modifications needed and fit perfectly. Work great too.

is their other brake set ups you would recomend?? i want this beast to stop!!! lol

The steel disk conversion works really well at first, but then starts hanging up as the disks wear. Had a similar issue on my aftershock when it ran steel disks.

Your most durable/problem free solution is more than likely the XL brakes:

Bought mine on ebay for not much less than tower, but shipping was less.
