I was looking at towerhobbies and i came across this conversion kit for the savage, the thing has two .26'ers .. I know u get better accel but i wonder how much u gain on top speed ... anyone know anything about these or have one on their savy ? Thing looks pretty damn cool but I'm wondering if its worthit considering u use up twice the fuel and get added weight along with more parts to break which happen to not be made by hpi ...http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHKC6&P=Z

Top speed wont change unless it

1) The engines spins at a faster or lower rpm
2) Have a different transmission gearing or a 3 speed
3) Have different gearing ratio on cb and spur gear

I think thats all the stuff I can answer correct me if I'm wrong.

I would bet you may be able to get a few mph more out of it since you have two engines helping eachother they may reach a few more RPMs, although the point of that conversion is not top speed. IMO, just buy a nicer mill with that cash.

Yeah there is a cool factor in there, but I wouldn't put the cash in one. I do well to get one engine tuned much less 2.

Click on wasp x 2 here. http://madd-marvin.tripod.com/id2.html Fun to watch. It was flipping over on it's back everytime it changed gears before he put the wheelie bar on it.

I enjoy wrenching on a car. But I think a twin would be too much for me.

you could get alot more mph, but it would require a major regear. with two engines pulling you can run alot higher gearing and still have the power to pull the truck, so you would get way more top end.

edit: that guy can't jump for crap!! lol poor savy and buggy...

i was looking around on comcast on demand on my tv and i found something on hopups for nitros it was under the home section under DIY if ur got on-demand you should check this out fastfoward towards the end they show a savage with like tons of mods it had two engines and an extra two wheels on the make which made it into a dual engine tank pretty much..its fricken weird man..

Yea, I agree with digger on this one!! I would think it would be double the trouble.

I wandered around the rest of that guys site... he made a roll cage for a buggy!

I saw this at the LHS and the guy said it is a huge pain to tune because you need both engines to turn at equal speeds while running.

there was a guy at my local track running a dual engine sagage. looked and sounded cool but didnt handle that well. top speed wasn't there either.
