i broke the rod in my 3.3 yesterday it was runnin good then died and i hit the ez start and it wouldnt do anything checked the flywheel and it moved a little each way. i dont want too much more power yet but wat would be a good .21 to buy?

If you can find an Ofna/picco 21 max, It should be priced reasonably. Or an os 21 tm, but it's close to 300 bucks.

The picco 26 max seems to still be well liked. Not a 21 though.

I think they all require a different engine mount, but will allow you to use traxxas header/pipe. A pipe upgrade is advised though, but since you have the 3.3, doesn't it come with a better pipe over the old 2.5 plastic one? If so, you may be ok there.

I'd go with a pull-start, but I like pull-starts. ;)

Sorry to hi-jack. Do the 21 and 26 picco use the same mount? I'm going to get a 26 for my maxx and put the 21 on my beater revo.

Well, from what I've read about the picco revo mount is that it sucks. Not adjustable and weak.

I know when I was hunting for a BB mount for my revo, I found this one for the 21 or 26 picco:
http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi?session_id=&part_id=2285

It's also adjustable like the stock mount, so you may want to go that route instead.

That said, it seems that the 21 and 26 use the same mount. I checked OFNA's site and you can find the black mount that appeared to come with the 21 maxx, but on towers site for the 26 maxx, they link you to a grey mount. On OFNA's site, their 26 mount is black as well.

You can see the 21 mount here:
http://www.hobbyfever.com/product_info.php?products_id=4012

And if you go to OFNA's site:
http://www.ofna.com/parts.php?start=4000
Search for the number 51530 which takes you to a black mount.

That part on tower is silver...

lol

Not sure if I helped or gave you a headache!

That works....thank you! Now I can get my red-dot and bolt it right into my maxx. I'll worry about the revo mount later.

will my lhs have the picco?
I couldn't say. I know none of mine carry it (one hobby town and two privately owned). They tend to carry what sells easily, so a lot of standard type big blocks and small blocks.

Doesn't mean they can't order it for you. May cost a bit more... but supporting your LHS is what keeps fuel close by. ;)
