Ok, well I tried getting my savage out for the first time in several several months and I came across a few problems when trying to get it working. First, I put fresh batteries in the truck and Controller, but when I tried to just put on the throttle and the brakes (with the truck off) it would just barely move and the wheels did not even move at all. Why is this? Are my servos messed up or something? The other problem was when I was trying to get the motor to actually start. The engine didn't sound like it wanted to turn over, and with my extreme smarts, I figured this was because there was no fuel in the lines, so I put my finger over the exhaust to create the vacuum that feeds the fuel through the lines, but this did not work at all. Why can't I get any fuel in my lines?? I'm not the most experienced RC owner. I know how to drive it, just not how it works and how to repair it, so some simple instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First off, loose the AA batteries in the truck. Go buy a 5 cell hump pack and a charger for it if you do not already have one. Check your radio dual rate knobs, they would cause little to no movement if they are turned all the way down. If you let the engine sit without clearing all the fuel out of it, then it may be gummed up with old fuel. If that's not the case, check your exhaust gasket and pipe coupler for tears. Replace them if they are not in perfect shape. Replace the fuel line and pressure line with new ones.

the holding of your finger pressurizes the line from the pipe back to the fuel tank-no vacuum.try taking the return line off and then see if fuel comes out when ya hold your finger over it.
sounds like it may have lost its fit with the piston and sleeve.
i would also remove the aircleaner tube and see if the carb slide is moving and also open about 1mm.if it was put away with fuel the alcohol has evaporated and all thats left is the oil which like stated above is now gum.needs a solvent run in it.
as for the tires not turning thats a savage.when it starts and moves they will turn
if the piston isnt put to bottom of stroke when done running it will shorten engine life and a sign of this is hard starting

I personally like to remove the return line and blow into it until you see the fuel hit the inlet. Once it does, stop blowing and put back the return line. If you overprime the engine you will flood it, so you want it just where it touches the inlet.

When the truck barely moves, does the engine rev up? How does the engine react when the Savage doesn't move.

I agree with the hump pack upgrade, it's the best upgrade for the price. You will notice more torque and speed in your servos. Plus you can also get longer runtimes.
