In some states, even some smaller crimes put you on the sex offender list, such as being convicted of indecent public exposure. A lot of surfers awhile back got tickets or arrested for changing from their wetsuits to their shorts under a towel. Other similar things like that. Also, think of those that were falsely accused and could not afford proper representation to avoid a conviction, for example ex-wife making a claim of assault or rape. Just an FYI.

Overall, though, the lists do have a positive for society. I wish they would be more specific as to the type of conviction, such as rapist or child molester. (Shouldn't the title "rapist" be a PART of child molester? In essence, that is what they are doing!)

look closer at that map. when you do the info pointer on a dot, it gives you a link by their name. you can see their current picture, all their info, what they did, the victim's age, and the victim's sex. i've never looked at the other states' sites, but Texas has a good one for sure. RR you're right on about some of them being people in the wrong place at the wrong time. a lot of 'em i looked at were 20 years old or so and the victim was a 16 year old female. if anybody's been to the local mall lately, you can see a lot of 15 year old chicks dressing and acting like they're 30. a lot of 'em are looking for trouble and when they find it, they holler rape or some crap. stupid girls. (sorry hugo!) i'm gonna join the he-man-woman-haters club.
