I was looking at a local electronics shop and noticed some type d batteries that were rated at 9000 mah! I was wondering if weight wasn't an issue to use 4 of these on a nitro car, then would it work or burn out the reciever. I thought mah was the amount of time it could hold a charge. I'm not much of an electronics person. If it could work, how long would you say those batteries last?
thanx

If indeed they are rated at 9000 mAH, they would last a loooonnng time. I use 600 mAH NiCds in my truck and I get probably a good couple of hours out of a pack. I wouldn't worry about the receiver. Amps won't hurt it. Volts will. You don't want to go above 6v.

Battery

Exactly right. 9000mah will just last longer. I run 2000mah and I only have to recharge every 3rd outing or so.

amperes (AMPS) are controlled by the size of the wire. Volts however, are not. Candymann is right.

Depending on how old you are and what you've messed with in an 1:1 car, this is why the starter on a car has a cable the size of your index finger running to it and the wires running pretty much everything else are 1/10 the size. For example purposes, lets say the battery has availble 600amps. Your starter requires 500amps to turn the engine over, while your fuzzbuster requires 1 to keep the cops at bay. This is controlled first by the size of the wire connecting them, then by the internal circuitry.

Didn't mean to get teachy, just thought an explanation may clear up future quandries.

if you do get the batts and they work out right please post some info on them. Name brand, maybe a website. I know we woud ALL love some batts that lasted forever.
