8IGHT RTR - Won't go forward

Hello, I got my new 8IGHT RTR started which was quite an experience for a newbie who never saw a start up. So with the help of youtube, I got it started.

Now I'm trying to figure out why it won't move forward?
As I pull the trigger on the controller, it just revs.

When I test the acc/braking with the car not running I do see the brakes and acc arms move.

If I left the car up while on and hit the trigger, the wheels move ever so slowly... no power to get them moving when sitting on the ground.

I have not adjusted any settings on the RTR out of the box.

Any ideas or tips here would be helpful.

OK. I think it was the trim. I had to move it up to 50 to get the car moving now. Not sure if that is normal.

Make sure when you hit the throtle that the Clutch bell which is the little gear on the front of the motor is spinning the larger spur gear in the center of the buggy, the motor has to reach a certain RPM befor the clutch shoes which are located inside of the clutch bell gear will open and ingauge the clutch bell which should inturn then spin the spur gear and make the buggy accelerate, if this is not taking place then there is probly some thing wrong with your clutch or it needs to be adjusted...

yeah it moves... so i think i'm all good. just got through 1 tank of gas for burn in. i will do the other 2 tomorrow.

I do however notice that the exhust does put out the white smoke during acceration but during idle it spits out liquid which I assume it is fuel as it leaves a mark on the ground.

lean out the high speed needle about 1/4 of a turn u wantit rich during break in but not to the point its spitting out fuel

You'll actually want it to spit a little fuel; the unburnt fuel helps wash out the metal particles that wear off the piston and sleeve during breakin.

running rich enough will do....washing the cylinder is just a little excessive plus with it that rich u will not get the temp up to properly heat cycle it

True, true, try to get it just lean enough to where it gets up to 220 degrees at most.
