777 (300 bux, change towers and pistons soon)
mbx5 (450ish, change towers)
jammin (450, how much diff than a 9.5)
mayhem (500 w/engine and exh, unknown quantity still, parts avail)
raycer (???, out yet, when, how castrated over 'luxury')

help me decide!!! (kit versions, not RTRs)

go for the mp777, kyosho has been around for awhile, they know there stuff, great feedbacks, greta quality and they have won almost everything!!

the raycer is going to be available at $489, call www.ashfordhobby.com i know robert has them advertised already, and they should be in stock very soon. the parts that are changed are shock towers are 3mm 7075, inner hinge pin holders are composite, braces are composite, no tools, no battery, silver springs, 3mm 7075 ackerman iirc, stronger front upper turnbuckles, hudy steel still in drivetrain and turnbuckles, hudy steel CVD's instead of Uni's, shocks are the same hard coated as full kit, wider and slightly softer arms, motor mounts are slightly different, updated chassis, most of the aluminum is left silver instead of black anodized.

I have seen Chris put the Xray to the test MANY MANY times it's a stout buggy.( if the other bits are not up to snuff, you can upgrade) You know Ryan you really can't go wrong with any of these buggys. The Jammin is totally diff. than the 9.5, not alot of info on this one,not many peeps running it so I may stay away. The 777 STEERS. That thing has a small turning radius. MBX-5....world champ. Guess it comes down to personal choices.........not telling you anything you already dont know.........

jeff, u lookin at a diff buggy 4 next yr or later this yr urself. i know chris prolly pry over to xray. what u think.

I may be looking to next year for another buggy. I have driven his "punisher" and it is very nice. Now the question.."what would you do?".....well I'm kinda kicking myself for not getting the Mayhem instead of the Storm. BUT....to have any one of those you listed ,Xray or x-5. Not a thing wrong with the others, but I guess it would be one of those OR a 777. A 777 for $300??

320 shipped at ultimate hobbies .com

but... i'm havin a brutal time findin people that stock parts for them online. i dont want this to be a chore. so it thats not helpin the kcar's cause. the mayhem RTR is nice and the pro w/.21 and 053 pipe @ 500 bux. temptin

idk, jon is buyin the SUT Pro and the storm

ps- who does pitstop stock beyond GS for parts?

If you can get a MP777 for 320 shipped I'd go for that. Thats a great bang for the buck.

You will have some problems finding bits for the k cars now that they are going to their own network to sell their stuff.

pit stops 8th scale parts selection sucks. they carry some kyosho (mostly 7.5) and some ofna (hyper 7) in addtion to GS which is probibly thier biggest selection. i overcome this by having about $140 in spares of the most breakable parts on hand, and the fact that you have to work to break a buggy. i will not tell you what to get, all i did was answer your questions about the raycer. i would obviously push jeff towards a raycer because then we can both have parts on hand to support each other, and share setups. you seem to have a hard enough time deciding what to do with your vehicles, and i dont want to be blamable should you not like your new car. good luck with your decision, any of the buggys will perform well.

well, i think its your call, if you want something different..then take one...

sometimes...i am kind of tired of the big brands......XB8 or CRX1 is not bad too...well

TTR s3 I like the brake rods are both "above the table", seems easier

you can get it cheaper than the x1cr
in fact it is the cheapest buggy around and carries the latest technology
dino-chassis, 2-way tank, double action inboard shocks, spiralcut gears, pivotball steering, new easy clutchshoes spring system ...
as it can hang already with the best, the tt would be the way to go

as to the Jammin' I like :
the universal driveshafts, 4 discs, the 1piece motormount , the z-brace

Prices here are different than across the pond. The TTR seems to be a very nice buggy,I like the center tunnel, would make sense it would have less flex as well.

just remember the 777 has not been out there that long so there are hords of hopups for it yet like kyosho are renowned for, from what i seen ou got to buy the kit then hop them up to make em strong

I wonder
Kyosho has to feel the pressure of the other brands succes sales

I hope they are working on a great different car too for their sake (and ours)

it's just not different or great enough and to pricy

other brands cost half now and people are happy with it

jeff, there's an sp2 now ready 2 be released. plans were scrapped, i can't afford it.
