I have a slash 2wd with a Mob Max Pro esc and was wondering if anyone has tried the 550 style brushless motors in a 2wd? They are for the 4x4's but should have lots of tourque for a 2wd, right? Its just for bashing against my brothers stampeed. They have a longer can and claim better cooling?? Thanks for your 2 cents.

Depends on which motor it is. Yes it should have more torque but most of the Traxxas 550 can motors were designed to run on two stick packs or 14.4 volts. It you ran it on just one it would be a dog.

True, but i mean the short course 4x4 motors like the Tekien ones. They are for 2s power.

Sorry I skipped right over the brushless part...my bad. It would be stupid powered actually...but if it will fit...why not. Just buy a few extra transmissions and drive shafts. How much clearance do you have? Will it fit?

The stock motor is a 550 brushed, so i think it should bolt up. The can is longer on the brushless ones so might stick out a little more than stock. Just was wondering if anyone tried it... They do claim lots of tourque, witch can't be bad and cooler running temps.

Well if it comes with one already...you should be GTG. Yeah they do have crazy torque. I have seen one in a Jammin 4x4 short course and it was VERY fast.

I've put one in my son's truck. It runs great!! No problems, had sto slow the gearing down, it spun out to easy for him.

I was gonna say...it will bolt right up, but 1. the Slash stock Tranny may or may not handle it very well and 2. You're gonna need to gear it WAAAAY down and dial in some serious expo on the radio to keep it in a straight line ;-) My 2WD Slash would do standing backflips with just a VXL setup in it on a 2s LIPO on pavement. The Tekin and Novak Ballistic SC motors are quite a bit more punch than the VXL ;-)

It will fit and would probably be a blast once you got used to the power though!
