I just received my 2700 mah 5 cell RX battery pack, but I was wondering if anyone out there has come up with any good ideas on where to mount them. The instructions say to zip tie it to the bulk head in the front. Has anyone had any luck mounting them any other way? The zip ties just don't hold it secure enough.

A standard size hump pack will fit in the battery box. If it is a stick or flat pack you can mount it on the side with Kyosho battery box, part number MA109. You will need to drill a few holes in the TVP to mount it or use zip ties. If it is an oversized hump pack you might be able to mount it in the battery box. If you don't have reverse you can use some of this space.

It's a 5 cell hump pack, but it's pretty big. I haven't found a way to mount it in the battery box without cutting the box lid. There's no possible way to mount this in the stock 4 cell battery pack location and it's wider than the third servo hole so I can't mount it there either.

Eh? I've got the ofna 1400mAh hump pack. Its a 3+2. No problems fitting it in place, inside my electrical box - Tho, I still hate that box. Click here to check it out.

Mine is zip tied to the bulk head. You just need to position it to where one tie goes between the two cells on top of the pack. Then it can't slide out.

I will be getting a RX pack for my savage and are those good packs and also if u had a choice of a hump or a flat which would u go with.

If you want the most power from your servos... especially your steering servo, you'll want to upgrade to a 5 cell pack. It doesn't matter if they're configured flat or hump, the power will be the same. The only difference is mounting the aukward thing. Check here for a good source on where to find them. Good prices, fast shipping, strong batteries. One thing to consider... the higher the mAh, the longer the run time. Think of mAh as the size of a fuel tank... the bigger the tank, the more fuel it can hold, the longer you'll run before refills, or charges in this case.
