Yes. I did it. Got a good Traxxas VXL-4S motor and receiver for $100. Pulled out the 3S motor and ESC. Installed 4S system. Took a little bit of customizing. Relocated the receiver to make it all fit. Got 2 new 4S batteries, put 1 in, and let her rip. This was at the same blacktop parking lot I always go to. And according to the Traxxas app: 102mph. This thing rips!

I like em too. Would make a few changes, but it's still good. And FYI: half shafts are still intact and differentials seem to be fine. I'm running a 28T pinion and a 50T spur. So far so good

Your rear diff isn't going to last. How do I know this? Mine is down with a blown rear diff.
4s buggy motors are best. They're a lot snappier than the truggy motors.

A tip for suspension setup is to run a front shock tower in the rear facing backwards. Use aluminum spacers for standoffs and mount rear shocks F/R. Use the farthest out hole on the a-arms for mounting the shocks. This will increase the weight handling capability of your suspension and give you more room for tuning.
