Servos will run faster/stronger at the higher voltage. At least that is my understanding of it.

has any1 compared 4.8v to 6v? Is there a noticeble difference?

yes running at 6V will make your servos stronger and faster....thats a good thing but thats about all it does.

ok, which would you guys choose?

6v 1100mah or 4.8v 2100 mah

6v 1100 mAh.
You'll be disappointed with you a 4.8v pack works. A radio usually runs on 6v. 4 AA alkaline batts= 6v. So stay with that.

my 6 v 1100mah runs all day at the track and then some and that is with digital servos if that tells you anything.

4 AA = 5 volts sorry not trying to be a know it all here as I myself am just learning all the electric lingo. Each AA has 1.2V so how ever many batteries X 1.2

well actually, AA alkaline batts are 1.5 volts each. (1.5*4=6)

Typically the rechargables run 1.2v. Thats why most hump packs are rated 4.8v (1.2*4=4.8)

not to hijack this thread  but...
Do you have a link to the 6v 1100Mah battery pack you are using. I'd like to get one for my new Savage. Are there ones for more than 1100Mah? Has anyone thought of using a camcorder 6v 3500Mah battery?

go to onlybatterypacks.com. They have several types of batteries. But those two that I mentioned will go in with no modification or gluing.

Hey look, I've run both 4.8 and 6 volt setups and don't notice a difference. It was not meant to be spam nor was it meant to be misleading. I just answered the question.

is 'nope' me? and are you accusing me of spamming?
