I have a 4.6 truggy and I want to upgrade the motor. I've been looking at the axial .28. But hpi says that the hp from stock is 2.9 but there has been a debate if it's really 1.8 hp. And axial I see everywhere with no real debate they're at 2.4 hp. What are your takes and are there any other good motors out there.

Any LRP .28 to .32 size engine's. If you don't mind spending more cash the Picco boost .28 or a Novarossi .28 would be about the best. The hpi engines are good engines but no where near the quality of the engine's I mentioned above.

Best bang for your buck is the O.S. .28. That engine is a MONSTER! if you go onto amainhobbies.com, you can see the fantastic reveiws on that engine.
Man, I have the O.S. .25 and that has stupid power. I run it in a buggy now, and every time it's on the track people will stop and say daaaayuuumm! ;-). Have not seen .28 in person but can only imagine what an animal it is.

If I got a o.s. .28 for my hpi 4.6 truggy would I have to mod the engine mount or change and gear ratios? I'm new to swapping out engines in nitros
